Delete your account
Last updated: 2026-11-03
This page is for closing a sofalet account: the address you proved, and everything that hangs from it. It is reachable without installing anything, so that somebody who has already uninstalled the app can still ask.
sofalet needs no account to be used. An account here is not a login you need for the home screen: it exists so that a licence granted to your address can find your TV, and so that a donation you proved is remembered. If you have never signed in, there is nothing here to delete.
How to ask
Write to apps@gpm.name from the address you signed in with, and say you want the account closed.
The address is the check. Deletion is irreversible, so a request that cannot be tied to the address it names will get a reply asking you to send it from that address rather than being carried out. If you no longer have access to it, say so and we will work out what else can prove it.
Expect it to be done within 30 days, and normally within a few days.
Signing out inside the app is not this. It withdraws the key on this TV and leaves the account where it is, which is what you want if you are handing the TV on rather than leaving.
What is deleted
- Your address, and everything that points at it by name.
- Your sign-in key, everywhere it is still valid.
- Your name, if you gave one.
- The link between you and anything you reported.
What is kept, and why
Bug reports and ideas stay, with your address removed from them. A bug is a bug once it has been reported, and a problem somebody else is still hitting should not disappear because the person who found it left. What remains cannot be traced back to you: the row loses the link to the identity rather than being deleted with it.
What is not ours to delete
What is on your TV. Your settings, the city you chose, the cached wallpaper and, if you turned Continue watching on, the short list of what it remembered are yours and are only there. Deleting the app removes them; closing this account does not reach them, because it never could.
Everything else about what this service holds is in the Privacy Policy.
